Henry County Commissioner
Paul Neal
2nd
District

Paul Neal represents
the 2nd District on the Henry
County Commission.
He is opposed
to any project that would cause additional
tax burden on the people of Henry County.
Neal
believes Henry County should strive for new
industry while working to keep existing
industry.
He believes
education is important to the future of
Henry County and our entire nation.
Neal, who
lives southeast of Henry, is a graduate of
Henry High School. While working at
Haldex Products, he operated a family farm
in Henry County since the early
sixties. Retired from the factory as a
planner scheduler with 42 years of service,
he is now a full time farmer with over 400
acres of row crop and hay. Neal was a
leader in the local farming community
changing from older farming standards of
plowing and planting to no-till production.
His row crop operation is one-hundred
percent no-till to conserve the land and the
soil. In 2000, the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce
named him the Conservationist of the Year.
He has also been recognized in the State of
Tennessee corn yield production competition
several times.
As a member
of the board of directors of the Henry
County Farm Bureau for many years, he has
served on various committees as well as
being a voting delegate to the Tennessee
Farm Bureau Convention several times.
In those
committee functions, he has worked closely
with state lawmakers to pass several laws
that protect and benefit the farming
community.
Neal became
a commissioned and certified reserve officer
with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department
in 2007.
Neal says
both his public work and farming work gives
him unique experience and opportunity to
serve the 2nd District and Henry County. He says his farming
work has taught him the value of being
conservative and getting the job done while
his public work as a planner scheduler has
taught him how to take a project from start
to finish while keeping value, budget and
timeliness in perspective.
Neal attends
Bethlehem Baptist Church and serves as the
cemetery fund trustee and cemetery
treasurer.
He has been
married to Betty French Hosford for
forty-six years and has three children, six
grandchildren and several great-grand
children.
Please feel
free to contact Neal with any concerns about
the issues that face Henry County.
