As 2012 arrives, Henry
County continues to remain proud of the
Henry County Patriot football team for its
successful season culminated by the 5A State
Championship. Thank you coaches, players,
managers, band members, madrigals, and
student body for the tremendous recognition
you have brought to Henry County.
Roll Red Roll!
In March 2012, the Henry County Democratic
Primary election will be held in conjunction
with the Presidential Primary Election. The
Offices of Road Supervisor and Tax Assessor
will be on the ballot. We strongly encourage
you to vote in this election.
The Emergency Services Complex will have an
official grand opening in the first quarter
of 2012. We applaud the efforts of the Henry
County maintenance staff headed by Kenneth
Charles and assisted by Chris Thompson in
bringing this project to its completion. The
building will house a Senior Citizens Center
and Community Room, Paris Landing Fire
Department, Henry County Medical Center
Ambulance Service, Paris-Henry County Rescue
Squad, TWRA and the Henry County Sheriff
Department.
During the first week of the New Year, we
were excited to announce the arrival of
Tower Support Systems to the McKenzie
Industrial Park in the Henry County portion
of McKenzie. Tower Support Systems
manufactures large anchor bolt systems for
the erection of electrical transmission
towers. We anticipate the employment level
at the plant to reach 30 people within three
years, with at least 15 people being
employed the first year.
On another industrial matter, discussion
continues with an undisclosed manufacturing
company that has expressed interest in the
“spec” building in the City of Paris
Industrial Park. Their decisions could be
made within the next few months. We
certainly hope the news will be favorably
for Henry County.
The HCMC-Bethel project is getting back on
schedule after some weather delays during
the last quarter of 2011. The project for
Bethel is still slated for a fall completion
date. Henry County Medical Center is also
completing its power plant renovation as
well as completing the purchase of the
Kentucky Lake Surgical Center on Wood
Street.
