Sheriff Monte
Belew brings over sixteen years of law
enforcement experience to the Henry County

the Henry County Sheriff's Office under
Sheriff Tom Jenkins as a jailer /

University of Tennessee Martin with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal
Justice, he was hired as a patrolman for the
Jackson, Tennessee Police Department. After
three years Belew was transferred to be a
School Resource Officer with the Madison
County School System. Sheriff Belew
was then hired by the Tennessee Highway
Patrol, and after completing their six-month
training academy, was stationed in Jackson,
Tennessee. Eventually he was allowed to
transfer to Henry Patrol and part time with
the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency as a
boating officer, patrolling and enforcing
laws on Kentucky Lake. Sheriff Belew has
completed numerous specialized law
enforcement training classes and schools.
After his
election to the office of Sheriff, Belew
implemented many new programs. He is
especially proud of the Metro Crime Unit;

jail ministry with gospel broadcasting
network.
